Ivan Sutherland
b 1938 in Hastings, Nebraska (USA); a pioneer of computer graphics. His program Sketchpad, developed for his Ph.D. in 1963 at MIT in Cambridge, MA, figures among the very first interactive graphical applications. He became widely known for the development of the Head-mounted Display and the Cohen-Sutherland-Algorythm.
